Dead Space news hasn't been great lately, and despite the official 2025 remake being a critical success and lauded among fans, EA dropped the bombshell late last year that the franchise is more or less on ice at this point, reportedly shelving the highly anticipated Dead Space 2 remake for good and squashing any hopes of a full trilogy remake. The announcement came as a major blow to fans of the iconic sci-fi series, and things have been pretty bleak ever since.
However, there is still hope for the franchise, in that Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield stated late last year that he has "quite a few ideas" for Dead Space 4, and after EA's massive $55 billion deal to go private, he hopes the IP will be picked up by another party. Further, Schofield stated that he has high hopes for a Dead Space live-action adaptation for film or TV, though there have been no major developments or announcements on that front so far.
