Capcom Officially Stokes Resident Evil 5 Remake Rumors

Between Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Code: Veronica, and Resident Evil 1, there have been plenty of rumors about which Resident Evil game will be remade following Resident Evil 4. While there's no official confirmation that remakes will precede the inevitable launch of Resident Evil 10, the tenth mainline, numbered entry in Capcom’s survival horror franchise, leaks and teases are seemingly rampant.

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to see a handful of new Resident Evil remakes succeeding Resident Evil Requiem’s recent release, though we might not hear official details about them until Resident Evil Requiem’s DLC story expansion is released. Still, Capcom is not letting fans move on so quickly from the series, going as far as to explicitly reference Resident Evil via its brand-new sci-fi IP, Pragmata.

On the official Twitter/X account for Pragmata, Capcom is playfully immersing one of its protagonists into social media by producing posts as if Diana—a sentient android with hacking abilities—has commandeered the platform. Here, Diana has begun collecting data and learning all about Resident Evil, including the fact that “someone PUNCHED a boulder just because it was in his way!
