Dark fantasy fans are in luck: a new game has just launched on Steam, and it's completely, 100% free. Steam gets free games frequently, but it can be hard to sift through them. Many times, a "free" game is actually either a multiplayer title—which relies on microtransactions—or a trial of a game, with the rest of the game hidden behind a paywall.
It's rare for a game to be completely free, but the new fantasy title is exactly that, no strings attached. Fans of dark fantasy will find plenty to love in the new release, as will fans with a hankering for an old-school gaming experience.
Best of all, the new Steam game, titled Dreadholm, was created entirely from scratch by a solo developer (also named Dreadholm). Dreadholm is an isometric online RPG with a charmingly retro, hand-crafted pixel art style that evokes old-school titles like the original Diablo, Ultima, and Planescape.
