As a franchise, few can claim to be as influential and beloved as The Lord of the Rings, with JRR Tolkien's fantasy epic drawing in millions of viewers, players and readers the world over, all of whom can't wait to find new adventures for themselves in Middle-earth (and beyond, if you're a Silmarillion enthusiast).
The last quarter-century or so has been a brilliant time to be a fan, with Peter Jackson's film trilogy bringing a ton of momentum to the setting and really spawning a ton of other unique releases, from video games to TV shows.
