After concerns recently arose concerning Marvel SNAP laying off staff and winding down, chief development officer Ben Brode has reassured fans that the card-collecting game is not going anywhere. Developed by Second Dinner, Marvel SNAP was released in 2022 and won Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards that same year. In 2023, it also officially came to PC via Steam, where it has maintained an average of 2,000 daily concurrent players.
Rumors about Marvel SNAP shutting down began when community manager Griffin Bennett announced he had been laid off. Not long before that, designer Glenn Jones also parted ways with developer Second Dinner. Unfortunately, these two don't appear to be the only staff affected. "Saddened to hear about personnel losses at Second Dinner," Jones recently posted on his LinkedIn. Now, the studio's co-founder has stepped in to address the layoffs and the game's future.
