Barring some legendary and completely unforeseen circumstances, Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to release on November 19. When it does release, it'll do so on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and not the PlayStation 4/Xbox One or PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 like Grand Theft Auto 5 did.
That's a massive differentiator, and, according to Circana's Mat Piscatella, the fact that it's on current-gen consoles could give consumers a case of "sticker shock" when they go to buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S due to the multitude of price hikes.
Video game consoles have never been less affordable than they are today.
In an interview with The Game Business, and as first spotted by Insider Gaming, Piscatella envisioned a scenario that could come to life in November.
