Nintendo Switch 2 Prices Hiked Due to "Changes in Market Conditions" | TechRaptor

Nintendo has announced a price increase for the Switch 2, putting the hike down to "changes in market conditions". The original Switch has dodged another price increase, unless you're in Japan.

In a news post announcing the price hikes, Nintendo says it's raising the consumer cost of the console "after considering the global business outlook". Price rises are listed for Japan, North America, and Europe, but Nintendo makes it clear that hikes "will be implemented in other regions" and that those regions' local subsidiaries will reveal more soon.

The Switch 2's price hike follows similar moves from Sony and Microsoft, and they're all almost certainly a response to the staggering rise in component prices due to a surge in demand related to AI data centers. If you're struggling to buy RAM at a reasonable price, now you know why.

In the US, you can expect to pay $499.99 for a Switch 2 once the price increases hit in September. Those in Canada will now pay $679.99 CAD, while the console will go up to €499.99 in Europe. As a reminder, these prices are all for the console on its own, not a bundle that packs in a game.
