According to Alinea Analytics, Saros has had a "lukewarm start" with around 300,000 copies sold since launch, which means that it might "struggle" to break even.
Although Housemarque's Returnal didn't light the world on fire when it came to sales, it was still one of the most highly-regarded games on the PS5. With that in mind, it came as a very nice surprise when the developer announced Saros last year, which looked to build on Returnal's gameplay in some interesting ways.
Even with the similarities to Returnal, Saros was clearly aiming to capture a much bigger audience than its predecessor, something that was made clear by the range of difficulty options and bigger marketing push. Since Saros launched, the game's sales performance has been a big question, and it seems like it's off to a bit of a slow start.
As reported by VGC, Norwegian analytics firm Alinea Analytics recently shared some data and analysis of Saros' performance over the last two weeks after early reports suggested it wasn't selling all that well. Alinea Analytics estimates that Saros has sold around 300,000 copies, earning it more than $22 million in revenue so far.
While $22 million sounds pretty...
