A reliable insider has backed the claim that Rockstar (as well as Nintendo) hate leaks so much that they'll purposefully change content and plans because of them.
As gaming has reached bigger and bigger audiences, leaks have sadly become pretty commonplace in the industry. It's rare to see a big triple-A game that's announced or launched without most people knowing beforehand, or at least having an inkling that something big is coming.
Developers and publishers deal with leaks in a variety of ways, but one of the most interesting is Nintendo's approach. As we can easily guess from how it announced Star Fox out of nowhere, Nintendo really hates leaks and will purposefully go the other way in order to spite its plans being shared ahead of schedule. As it turns out, that might be Rockstar's approach too.
In case it wasn't already clear from one developer's feelings about Jason Schreier (who is a proper reporter and not a leaker), Rockstar really doesn't like anyone revealing what it's planning.
