Escape From Tarkov has released a major new update and event for players to experience in the extraction shooter. While details are relatively scarce in Battlestate Games typical way, we'll run down what we do know here.
Icebreaker is a new map that players will be able to explore, and is premiering as part of the Icebreaker event. This is a PvE focused gameplay area and will have you and up to two friends go into the area available in all game modes. There are no random players in your matching here, and you'll only be facing AI enemies. During the chapter you'll be exploring and uncovering how the Paradigm Shipping Icebreaker ended up trapped inside Tarkov's blockade ring. The area includes a new boss you'll be able to battle as well.
To enter the area, players are reporting that you need to get and use the radio in your hideout with a sufficient intel level. An alternative method is finding posters on the second floor of the Terra group building and other areas in the Ground Zero map.
As part of the release, Battlestate games released a new code for freebie items. The code to redeem is: BACKTORAID.
