For PlayStation fans, Naughty Dog's lack of a traditional title since the release of The Last of Us Part 2 has essentially become a meme. However, for top Sony brass, it apparently is an issue.
That's at least according to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, a noted insider with a strong track record.
Taking to Bluesky, Schreier, in response to a user calling out the hypocrisy of Sony not letting Bungie commence work on Destiny 3 over budgetary concerns but has allowed Naughty Dog to whittle away for years on end at developing a singular title, noted that it's also an issue for Sony.
Schreier later clarified his comments to note that it isn't just Naughty Dog that Sony has an issue with.
It wouldn't need any clarification if people would stop just posting my replies out of context with wildly misleading tweets and headlines.
I reported that Sony hadn't greenlit Destiny 3 because of the cost. Someone said something about Sony having an issue with Destiny 3's cost but not Naughty Dog's costs. I said of course they had an issue with Naughty Dog's costs.
And somehow that was misinterpreted by wide swaths of the internet to mean that Sony...
