Following Its Pokemon-Esque Update, No Man’s Sky Is Getting A WoW-Style Raid

As No Man's Sky moves into its tenth year, developer Hello Games is showing no sign of slowing down. Despite having another epic in the works, Light No Fire, its space adventure has already received two huge updates in 2026.

The first, released in February, added a gravity gun and trucks, and its second turned the game into a creature-catching Pokemon-esque adventure.

Clearly taking inspiration from other titles, today, Hello Games released No Man's Sky's next major update, and this time, it seems to be taking a cue from World of Warcraft, as a big raid is inbound.

"Something new, huge and foreboding is hanging in the sky above planets. Unlike anything we've seen before," begins the reveal of No Man's Sky's "The Swarm" update. "Players are going to need a combined community effort to figure out what is going on. Travellers will boot up to be greeted with a personality test, dividing players into three factions, each will need to co-operate, strategise and compete to counter the Hive of Glass, an existential threat to the universe."
