Dragon Quest 12 Is Now Called Beyond Dreams After Rebooted Development

After exactly five years, Square Enix has finally shared more about Dragon Quest 12, now called Beyond Dreams, during a celebratory 40th anniversary livestream.

Although the Dragon Quest series is hardly starving for content (and I say that very pointedly as a Kingdom Hearts fan), there's one big release that no amount of remakes, spin-offs, and mobile titles can make up for the silence on. I am, of course, talking about Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, which was announced five years ago to the day.

In that time, the only real concrete bit of news we've had about DQ12 is that it's going to be a darker story than the rest of the series, which was hinted at in the surprisingly dramatic teaser trailer. Everyone has been waiting a very long time to finally know more about Dragon Quest's future, and that day has finally come.
