Dragon Quest fans have been eating pretty good recently, being served up banger remake after banger remake for a few years at this point, with Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined being the latest. Sure, we might not have heard much about Dragon Quest 12, but it's not like the series has been laying dormant since its announcement all those years ago.
Thankfully, the 40th anniversary of the series brought us a live stream which ended the long wait for some news on that front, but it also had one final surprise up its sleeve for Dragon Quest fans to look forward to. That was the announcement of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, yet another spinoff title that should tide fans over until the next mainline title.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to see too much. We know that the game will seemingly feature two female protagonists, and that the game will be releasing on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Steam. There was no release date, but it was explained that the game will most likely release before Dragon Quest 12.
