Giving out free upgrades to older games isn't something new. Devs have often announced free next-gen upgrades and also complete edition upgrades for some older games. The latter is precisely what Obsidian announced it was going to do, with regard to The Outer Worlds. The 2019 title received a sequel last year, so it looked like loyal fans were going to be rewarded.
At least that's what Obsidian said on its forum on April 30. "If you have at least the base edition of The Outer Worlds in your library before May 27th, you will be receiving the Spacer’s Choice Edition free. That’s right, free! This is for all platforms that the Spacer’s Choice Edition is on," however, it seems this hasn't happened.
