On The Tenth Anniversary Of Harambe's Death, Nintendo Announces Donkey Kong 64 Is Coming To NSO

Nintendo is finally adding Donkey Kong 64 to NSO. Out of the blue, seemingly for no other reason than it's about time. Except that some of you have already noticed that today is an anniversary connected to the world's second most famous gorilla after DK.

On May 28, 2016, Harambe the gorilla was shot and killed after a small child fell into his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo. Harambe's death made worldwide news and resonated with people so much that he has gone on to become a meme and is still referenced regularly in internet culture a decade later.

Exactly one decade later, which is why today, gamers are drawing a line between the real-life gorilla and Nintendo's fictional one. DirectFeedGames appears to have been the first to clock that Nintendo has finally caved and announced that Donkey Kong 64 is coming to NSO on the tenth anniversary of Harambe's death.

The tweet questions whether this is one big coincidence or if Nintendo has done this by design. While it's difficult to imagine Nintendo did this on purpose, it's also odd that its arrival has been announced ahead of time. NSO games are typically added as soon as they're...
