Paralives Will "Never" Do Paid DLC Because Base Game Sales Are Enough, Says Dev

The Paralives developers have promised that all future updates will be free, unlike The Sims series, which they draw a lot of inspiration from. Rather than drowning us in content packs, the devs are promising that all future content will be added into the game for no extra cost, even further down the line when DLC could be justified.

Taking part in a Reddit Q&A yesterday, the devs once again made this commitment to free updates to their community, and actually feel stronger than ever about it now that the game is out. That is because the devs plan to keep paying themselves with the money they made from initial game sales, since the team is so small.

"There will never be paid DLCs, only free updates. Even after the Early Access," says Alex Massé, lead developer on Paralives. "As life sim fans, we wanted to make a game we would like to play ourselves without the need to purchase a lot of extra content and we are happy to deliver that."
