Remember Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg? It doesn't matter if you do or not. What matters is Sonic co-creator Yuji Naka apparently suggested calling it Giant C*ck because the lead character is dressed like a rooster.
That's according to former Sega VP Mike Fischer. Fischer spoke to Sega-16 about all things Sega, but spent a significant portion of the interview speaking about his relationship with Naka. Naka is a Sega veteran and one of the minds behind Sonic the Hedgehog, but Fischer didn't have many nice things to say about his former co-worker.
It was Billy Hatcher, in particular, that Fischer honed in on when trying to explain what it was like working with Naka at Sega. "Yeah, Naka-san was a challenge. That’s when he made Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, if you recall that," Fischer said after describing what it was like at Sega in the early 2000s when he tried to explain to his colleagues in Japan that what propelled the studio forward throughout most of the '90s wasn't going to cut it in the US anymore.
And not just the ones Sega would prefer you to forget.
