Activision has once again vowed no silly skins in this year's Call of Duty, promising to keep Modern Warfare 4's post-launch in keeping with the campaign's tone.

"Every aspect of Modern Warfare 4 is anchored in the game's narrative," Infinity Ward said. "Every feature, every decision needs to feel authentic to what Modern Warfare is, and that includes cosmetics and collabs. We're committed to keeping it grounded and transparent, and we want to hear from you on what you'd like to see in our game."

However, not everyone is convinced. Black Ops 7 made the same promise, and while it didn't feature skins as egregiously out-of-place as Beavis and Butt-Head or Stan Smith, there were still collabs with franchises like Fallout (just like in MW3), which meant milsim operators dressed up in bright blue and yellow Vault-Tec suits. "Screenshot this tweet to throw at their faces when they decide to toss in Lady Gaga, Omni-Man, or some other goofy collaboration into the game," said one such skeptic.

"No Lady Gaga. No Omni-Man. No Teletubbies. No SpongeBob," the community teams responded. "Keep the receipts."
