Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red finally confirmed that it was developing a new The Witcher 3 expansion — Songs of the Past — and already, one dedicated fan has recreated the unique third sword seen in the key art.
"Who could have guessed that I'd be getting a new expansion pack after a full 11 years?" the description reads. "In honor of this announcement, I decided to make a sword inspired by the one Geralt is holding in the promotional poster for the Songs of the Past expansion pack."
Fans have spent the last few days sleuthing into the provenance of the sword, with some speculating that it belongs to Ciri, while others believe it to be the Gesheft blade that can already be found in the Land of a Thousand Fables, but as mod author merigoldmaribor explained, "Only the buckle part resembles it."
"It's similar to Gesheft," commenter Kakatrix explained. "But they have different crossguard arches. Gesheft's pommel is shaped like an apple, while Songs of the Past is shaped like a flower bud."
