IO Interactive was already a team that seemed to be doing pretty well with the iconic Hitman franchise becoming bigger and better than ever in recent years, and it seems like things are only ramping up from here. Getting the 007/James Bond license is no small feat for a dev team, and according to recent rumors and reports, a ton of resources were poured into the recently released 007 First Light.

Reviews have been very strong for the game, which currently sits at an impressive 88 aggregate overall on OpenCritic, good enough to be slotted into the Top 10 Best Reviewed Games of 2026 so far. But just what does this level of investment mean for the IOI and Bond partnership?

If the critical success as well as warm fan reception to this point are any indication, it seems we can expect IOI's massive investment in the IP and high-quality results are only good signs for fans of Britain's most famous spy in many years to come.
