Elden Ring's Tarnished Edition Content Is Not Switch 2 Exclusive, But You Will Have To Pay For It

Elden Ring is still coming to Nintendo Switch 2 even though there's been radio silence on the Tarnished Edition since it was delayed out of 2025. FromSoftware is finally ready to put a new release date on the port, and the studio has confirmed the additional content added to the game won't be locked to the new Nintendo console.

Those waiting on a way to play the 2022 Game of the Year on Switch 2 don't have much longer to wait. The Tarnished Edition arrives on August 28, 2026. That's the same day that the extra content will be made available to those who already own Elden Ring on other platforms via the Tarnished DLC pack. The bad news is you're going to have to pay for it.

"The additional content included in #ELDENRING Tarnished Edition will also be available for purchase on other platforms. The Tarnished Pack DLC will launch on August 28, 2026," a follow-up post on Elden Ring's X account to the release date reveal confirms. That seemingly even includes PS4 and Xbox One as, even though the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was a next-gen exclusive, the Tarnished DLC can presumably be used alongside the base...
