BioWare has explained why Dragon Age: The Veilguard has taken "so long", pointing out that it had other games in development at the same time and that it "wanted to make sure it got this one right".

Although Dragon Age: The Veilguard finally looks like it's on the horizon to launch later in 2024, it's been a very long road getting to this point. Following Dragon Age: Inquisition's launch in 2014, the fourth Dragon Age game was originally announced all the way back in 2018 before being officially named Dreadwolf in 2022 and then finally re-emerging a few months ago as The Veilguard.

That six-year gap between its initial untitled reveal and the most recent announcement at Summer Game Fest has been a bit of a marathon for fans of the series, who have wondered what was up with the long wait time.
