Final Fantasy 14 Fans Are Upset With Viper Changes, Black Mages Thriving

Final Fantasy 14's next big balance patch has now dropped, bringing with it quality of life changes to various cities, small fixes to known problems, and the addition of Savages for the post-expansion Arcadion raids. Square Enix promised that Patch 7.05 would also address some concerns that it had about the newly introduced Viper job, claiming that it had received some feedback about the "busyness" of its rotation.

Just the idea of making Viper simpler to play caused a bit of outcry on social media, and now that the changes are here, that outcry has reared its head once again. To be fair to Square Enix, the changes to Viper aren't as drastic as first feared, and the rotation remains relatively unchanged apart from one thing. That is the removal of Noxious Gnash, the damage over time (DoT) that the action Dread Fangs (now Reaving Fangs) applied to a target.

The Scions have grown too powerful, it's time for Final Fantasy 14 to take them down a peg or two.
