It's been almost five months now since Game Freak and Omega Force launched the hit Ditto-starring social simulation game Pokémon Pokopia for Nintendo Switch 2, and since its release, the game has received several new updates.
The Hoppip line of Pokémon debuted with the More Spores for Hoppip event in March; players participated in Bulbasaur's Jump Rope Contest in late April, and the Mythical Wish Pokémon Jirachi made its sparkling debut in late June and early July's Wish Upon a Jirachi event, to name a few updates.
In a few days, however, Pokémon fans will be able to access the game's first major DLC expansion with the Bubbly Basin launching on Wednesday, August 5th with purchase of Pokopia's $34.99 expansion pass.
Diving Into Pokopia's Underwater World
Throughout Pokémon Pokopia, Ditto can learn new moves and transformations to better traverse and cultivate biomes, such as learning Rock Smash from Hitmonchan and Surf from Lapras.
While Ditto can swim across rivers, ponds, and the ocean surface with Surf and Waterfall, they notably couldn't swim underwater in the base game, with Ditto quickly drowning and teleporting back to the surface if underwater for too long.
