Brand New Day Includes "Finishing Moves" Pulled From Insomniac's Spider-Man Games

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters this weekend, and fans of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games are going to want to be on the lookout for some potentially hard-to-spot easter eggs. Tom Holland loves the games too, and he and the crew tried to get some of Insomniac Spidey’s finishing moves into the final cut.

Peter and Miles can perform some pretty flashy moves in PlayStation’s Spider-Man games, particularly if you hit triangle and circle together at just the right time. Speaking with IGN ahead of Brand New Day’s arrival this weekend, Holland revealed that some of those moves, or at least moves inspired by them, are in the film.

“I couldn’t sleep last night; I was so excited about today. I was trying to figure out what I was gonna do, and I was like, ‘I’ll just throw the game on and have some fun.’ Holland told IGN, the game in question presumably being Spider-Man 2.

The idea that the guy who plays Spider-Man in the movies played a Spider-Man video game to calm his nerves about his upcoming Spider-Man movie tickles me.
