Grand Theft Auto 6 has the entire games industry understandably running scared. It’s why so many games are launching in September this year, and why November is pretty much barren for video game releases besides Rockstar’s next big title, and a new Barbie game. Nobody wants to be caught up in GTA 6 fever and have their game flop.
However, there is one company out there that has always marched to the beat of its own drum, bucking industry trends whenever it can, and that’s Nintendo. We have a couple of games from Nintendo that are yet to get release dates, and it’s been hinted that its biggest — the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time — may be raining on the GTA 6 parade.
There are a couple of reasons for this, the first one being that we recently got Ocarina of Time Remake’s ESRB rating earlier this week. You don’t usually get those until a game is relatively close to releasing, so it does signal that the game will be launching at some point in 2026 as the game’s initial reveal trailer suggested.
