Stellar Blade: Blood Rain just got a new trailer in the form of a music video - and fans overwhelmingly hate it. That is because the entire thing is clearly AI-generated and looks uncanny at best, soulless at worst.
The music video shows our new protagonist, Evie, singing a K-pop song and acting in a music video. However, given the nature of generative AI, Evie’s model changes with every shot, and seeing her “sing” is just off-putting. Put simply, fans hate it, and are hoping this kind of work doesn’t end up in the final game.
"Wanna be in LOVE" Feat. Evie was uploaded to the official Shift Up channel earlier today, and has amassed 33k views at the time of writing. With that said, it’s also amassed a hell of a lot of negative comments, disappointed to see this kind of slop put out by the devs.
“Your RAM just went up in prices while watching this video,” reads one comment.
Unfortunately, it's already been confirmed that Shift Up is using generative AI in game development. What that means for the final game remains to be seen.
