Lucasfilm has reportedly cut ties with Star Wars remaster developer Aspyr due to the failure of the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection and KOTOR remake.
From Star Wars Racer to Republic Commando, the galaxy far, far away has a very long and rich history when it comes to video games. Surprisingly, many of those games haven’t been lost to time and have actually been brought back with remasters, most of which have been developed by Texan studio Aspyr.
Although a good number of those remasters were strong, there were two significant failures that seem to have ended the relationship between Aspyr and Lucasfilm. I am, of course, talking about the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection and original Knights of the Old Republic remake, which have reportedly led to the two companies parting ways.
As pointed out by Star Wars: Gaming, insider The Star Wars Garrison has claimed that unnamed sources close to the matter have told them that Lucasfilm has ended its partnership with Aspyr. The main reasons for this are the problems with the original KOTOR remake before it was handed off to Saber, and the Battlefront Collection’s failure.
Now THIS...isn't just podracing.
A remaster of the two legendary...
