No Wonder Xbox Exclusives Are Back, Only 1 Percent Of PS5 Users Tried Halo: Campaign Evolved

It was a little surprising when Xbox announced it was returning to traditional exclusives, with Gears of War: E-Day and The Clockwork Revolution skipping PlayStation entirely. After all, just last year, the PS5 bestsellers chart was dominated by Xbox titles like Forza Horizon.

However, Circana senior director Mat Piscatella claims that Halo: Campaign Evolved is significantly underperforming on PlayStation, accounting for just 1% of the userbase.

"According to Circana's Player Engagement Tracker, on July 28th, Halo: Campaign Evolved ranked 4th in US DAU on Xbox platforms (8% of total Xbox players on that date launched the game), while placing 14th on Steam (2% of actives) and 29th on PlayStation (1% of actives)," Piscatella explained on Bluesky. "The average console player engaged with Halo: Campaign Evolved for over 2 hours on the 28th, with the average Steam player spending a little over 1 hour in the game."

It's admittedly strange seeing Halo — a flagship Xbox exclusive — on a PlayStation console, but there just isn't the same novelty as there might have been a decade ago, as the series is long past its prime.
