Despite reports of initially underwhelming sales, PlayStation’s recent financial report positively highlighted Saros’ review scores and its “steadily expanding” player base.

The gaming industry might be at a notable low point this year, but 2026 has still had a ton of amazing games to keep us all distracted from the imminent digital future. Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert, 007 First Light, and Pokopia all jump to mind as the heavy-hitters, but Saros certainly stands out as one of the highlights.

Housemarque’s latest punishing shooter debuted to strong critical reviews that looked set to make it another first-party gem like Returnal. Its reported sales figures told another story, though, and caused a lot of fans to worry about the developer’s future with PlayStation amid closures and layoffs. Thankfully, it seems like that’s not the case.

Earlier this week, PlayStation shared its latest financial results with the world, which not only finally resulted in a response about its move away from physical releases, but also gave us a glimpse at how some of its recent games are performing. As pointed out by Twitter user Genki_JPN, Saros was one such game featured in the report.
