Patrick Gibson was given the honor of playing James Bond this year, something only a handful of people can boast. Gibson was Bond in 007 First Light, and his performance as the iconic agent had some who played clamoring for the actor to be cast to play Bond in the movies as well.
The odds of that happening are, unfortunately, still pretty slim. Gibson’s performance in First Light has resulted in his odds improving significantly, though. According to odds tracking site Action Network, Gibson is currently twice as likely to be selected for Bond duty on the big screen as he was before First Light had been released.
Gibson currently has odds of around 5.5% of being the next Bond. Like I said, still not great, but a lot better than they were in May right before the launch of First Light. At that stage, Gibson’s odds of becoming a movie Bond as well as a video game one were just 2.44%. That means, while still a rank outsider, Gibson is twice as likely to be named the next Bond now than he was this time three months ago.
