Microsoft is reportedly going all-in on backwards compatibility in a way that will see countless fan favorites return to the fray and become widely available to gamers once again.

According to The Verge's Tom Warren on X, the company is planning to bring both XBOX and XBOX 360 titles to PC as part of a major push towards making the consoles' back catalogs widely available. A leaked document seen by the outlet reportedly provided details to developers regarding how they can bring their classic titles onto modern platforms, as well as a proposed timeline on when Microsoft plans to roll out backwards compatibility widely to consumers.

The company aims to make it as easy as possible for developers to publish their XBOX and XBOX 360 games, dubbing the process "disc-to-digital", and will handle most of the heavy lifting required to make games run on newer systems.
