Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is launching next month, but due to how grand the scale of the game is, and how exciting it is to have another mainline Fire Emblem game (the first on the Nintendo Switch 2), Nintendo gave us a deep overview of the title in its own dedicated Fortune's Weave Direct.
There were plenty of exciting details to get stuck into, all of which you can find in our detailed breakdown of everything announced, but arguably the biggest surprise was the reveal that Eshmel will be the game's "true protagonist."
Originally, many believed that Fortune's Weave would see us playing as four different characters, each one representing their own armies and going for victory in the Heroic Games. These characters are Cai, Theodora, Dietrich, and Leda, though Nintendo had also revealed another character called Eshmel, who could be a man or woman, depending on your choices.
