Gamescom is in full swing, and one of the first release dates confirmed is TankRat. This game is a vehicular RPG set in a sci-fi world with major dystopian vibes, coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Developed by Alpha Channel as part of a partnership with Kepler Interactive, TankRat promises brutal combat and plenty of customization for your tank, which you can change using pieces you salvage.
However, these tanks might not look like what you expect, and they aren't as clunky as you might expect either. The goal is survival and salvation, and you can start your journey to find Highpoint on January 15, 2027.
TankRat's Foundation Lies in Classic Sci-fi and Kitbashing
Kitbashing is a practice involving model kits that you buy and piece together following an instruction manual. Instead of actually following the manual, kitbashing is when you take pieces from multiple kits and use them to build a model that's uniquely your own. TankRat gives you the chance to basically kitbash your tank, getting pieces from enemies and the world that you can mix and match into the weapon you'll use to survive your search for Highpoint.
