A bumper weekend of Kingdom Hearts 4 reveals at D23 started with a first look at the game’s Coco world. That makes two worlds revealed so far, alongside the more realistic-looking Quadratum, but fans expecting more new world reveals at a steady pace will want to rein in their expectations.

Tetsuya Nomura explained in a new interview with Famitsu that Kingdom Hearts 4 will have the most detailed worlds the series has ever seen. Considering the gap between games and the advanced hardware on which the next entry will be released, you’d certainly hope that would be the case. However, that additional detail comes at a cost, as it means there will be fewer worlds than Kingdom Hearts fans are typically accustomed to.

“This game features the most detailed worlds we’ve ever created. That’s why the total number of worlds isn’t very large,” Nomura confirmed. The KH director added that the timing of the Coco world reveal led fans to believe a second world might be revealed at the Kingdom Hearts panel the following day, joking that, “if we announced things at that pace, we’d run out of information pretty quickly before release.”
