Pokemon Go is going to be heavily reliant on bringing back long-absent creatures to keep excitement high in the ten-year-old game. With only around 70 (of 1,025) Pokemon still to be released, big returns will be the lifeblood of the game.
The latest, announced during the Pokemon World Championships closing celebration, is Armored Mewtwo, a creature that has been missing from the game since February 2020. It will be available in five-star raids soon, but there is one major caveat.
Armored Mewtwo last appeared in Pokemon Go in February 2020 as part of the Pokemon Day celebration. This was only its second appearance in the game, following its initial release in July 2019 as part of the marketing for the Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back - Evolution movie.
The Pokemon is one of the most powerful and most sought-after Pokemon in the mobile hit, and it will return for two days on September 5 and September 6. As part of the 2026 Mega Finale, the Pokemon will be available in five-star raids between 10 am and 6 pm on both days.
