Crazy Taxi's soundtrack is iconic. It may not have been the largest, containing only seven songs, but The Offspring's "All I Want" and its infamous "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" are synonymous with the game.
At Gamescom this year, I was given the opportunity to sit down with Crazy Taxi legend Kenji Kanno and, naturally, being a massive fan of the original, I had to ask about what we could expect from the soundtrack for World Tour, to which he told me there was "one giant surprise".
Alongside my time with Kanno, I got to play 30 minutes of Crazy Taxi: World Tour's Germany-inspired level. It didn't take long for "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" to hit my eardrums, and I knew I was going to be all in on the game.
We already kind of knew The Offspring and Bad Religion would be in the game this time around, so I asked Kanno how much planning went into it, and if it was a conscious decision to keep things feeling similar to Sega's 1990s classic.
