Star Wars Zero Company Fans Are Making It Even More Like XCOM, Overhauling Injuries

Star Wars Zero Company is giving many of us our first XCOM fix in years, but there are some differences that set it apart. One of those differences is that Star Wars Zero Company is a little more on the forgiving side, making it harder to permanently lose an operator to injuries.

So, of course, fans are already finding ways to bring Zero Company to XCOM's level. One way they're doing that is with the new mod, Mortal Wounds, from Nexus Mods user jayman273. This overhauls how injuries are handled in-game, dishing them out based on the damage you take, not just when a character is downed.

"This mod is designed to recreate the feeling XCOM had, where reaching 0 health could mean permanent death. It does this by redesigning how injuries trigger," the mod's description reads. "Every hit your squad takes now carries a little risk. Every time someone gets shot, there's a small chance — 0.40% per point of damage — that the hit leaves them with an injury."
