Bloober Team's Next Game Will Only Be Playable In Switch 2's Handheld Mode

Bloober Team has announced its next horror game, and it's like nothing it's done before. Not only will it be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, but you won't even be able to play it in handheld mode, with no option to play it on your TV.

Onyx: The Dark Grip is launching at some point in 2027. It is the second named game that Bloober has in development right now, alongside Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, also set to launch next year. On top of that, we know Bloober is working on a remake of the first Silent Hill game, so the team is certainly keeping itself busy.

Onyx: The Dark Grip was unveiled at today's Nintendo Direct. Here, we were shown why this has to be a Switch 2 exclusive; it uses the Switch 2's touchscreen in its game mechanics and requires players to tilt the console around. You'd be able to accomplish the latter in docked mode, presumably, but not the former, so you won't be playing Onyx: The Dark Grip on the big screen.
