The Legend Of Zelda Surprise Remaster Officially Announced For Nintendo Switch 2

One would have expected that all announcements pertaining to The Legend of Zelda would have occurred during the dedicated 40th anniversary Nintendo Direct that aired on September 8, 2026. However, it seems like Nintendo had one last announcement saved up its proverbial sleeve, as just a day later, during the general Nintendo Direct on September 9, 2026, it revealed it is releasing a full-blown remaster for a surprise Zelda title.

This news helps bolster all of the previously announced Zelda projects revealed during the aforementioned 40th anniversary showcase and gives fans yet another game in the series they can play on the Nintendo Switch 2. The remaster comes with a slew of changes that fans will enjoy and is also releasing fairly soon. In fact, fans will only have to wait until February until they can get their hands on this rather surprising Switch 2 remaster.
