Level-5 Just Announced A Surprise Professor Layton And The Curious Village Remake

From TheGamer (Written by Joshua Robertson) on | OpenCritic

Earlier this week, Level-5 announced a lot of stuff at Nintendo's latest Direct, one of which was the release date for the latest Professor Layton game, The New World of Steam. You'd have thought they'd use the event to show off everything they had planned, but it seems as though there wasn't enough room for all the Professor Layton announcements they had.

Revealed via a random YouTube video simply uploaded to Level-5's Japanese YouTube account, it's been announced that Professor Layton and the Curious Village, which released for the Nintendo DS back in 2008, is getting a full-blown remake.

Unfortunately, since the only available trailer is in Japanese right now, there aren't many details unless you speak the language. However, we do know that it will be launching at some point in 2027, and that it won't be exclusive to Nintendo hardware. You can see at the end of the trailer that this remake will also be launching on PC and PS5, along with both Nintendo Switch consoles.

Nintendo is using its tariff refund to roll out a new sale - but only after facing backlash for refusing customers' refunds.
