Nintendo is notorious for its litigious nature against any form of piracy of its games and hardware. Sometimes, this can feel a little overbearing, such as suing a go-karting company for infringing on Mario Kart and making attempts to stymie the development of games like Palworld, but other times, the company goes after actual, full-on piracy and the devices that facilitate it.
One prominent example of this that has cropped up in recent years is the MIG Switch and Dumper, which Nintendo has just successfully negotiated the ban of in a Dutch court.
Today, following a lengthy case, the Hague District Court formally ruled that the sale of MIG Switch Cards and MIG Dumpers is a crime, and that all sales of these and similar devices from the manufacturer of the same name must cease and desist immediately.
Nintendo has been after MIG Switch since its sales first began a couple of years ago, and this court victory is a fairly decisive one against both physical and digital piracy efforts.
