The Blood of Dawnwalker finally released earlier this month, and it was a pretty massive success for developer Rebel Wolves. A new studio managing to shift one million copies of their debut game is mightily impressive, even if they did have a lot of developers that worked on The Witcher 3, including the director, on its payroll.
That being said, you could also argue that Blood of Dawnwalker would be nowhere near as successful as it was without its roots in The Witcher 3, as has been semi-proven by the analytics firm Alinea Analytics (thanks MP1st).
In the most recent newsletter by the analytics firm, the performance of Blood of Dawnwalker was broken down in terms of sales, and just who is exactly buying it. For example, it's been determined that of the 410,000 copies that were sold on Steam, roughly 11 percent of sales were from people in Poland, the country in which Rebel Wolves is based.
The "do not use" warning makes me think the asset wasn't supposed to be in the game. Just a hunch.
