Nvidia has been at the forefront of AI utilization in the PC graphics market for years, using it in its Super Resolution and Frame Generation settings. Refusing to slow down, Nvidia unveiled DLSS 5, a setting coming to all RTX-enabled GPUs that allows players to actively generate textures "that step forward in using AI to bring real-time graphics closer than ever to Hollywood-grade photorealism."
Pushing the bleeding edge even further, on September 1, Nvidia officially unveiled DLSS 5's first supported game, NBA 2K27, allowing players to utilize the setting to rather mixed results. Unsatisfied with the limited access, modders put together a program to inject DLSS 5 into any RTX-supported game, allowing us to see an early version of this experimental tech.
