Insomniac Games’ community director has debunked the claims that Marvel’s Wolverine reinterprets Logan and Sabretooth’s relationship as romantic.

The atmosphere surrounding Marvel’s Wolverine over the past few weeks has been nothing short of toxic. While it’s true that reviews for the game have been a little less positive than PlayStation and Insomniac would have liked, there’s still far more discourse and arguments than there needs to be.

Yesterday’s fart gas controversy was just the start of things, as the latest uproar that Marvel’s Wolverine is facing is all about Logan and Sabretooth’s relationship. Some have misconstrued recent comments about the pair as a sign that they have a romantic relationship, which absolutely isn’t the case.

The discourse this time around originates from Gene Park’s review of Marvel’s Wolverine for The Washington Post, which includes some quotes from narrative director Walt Williams. At one point in the review, Park discusses Logan and Sabretooth’s relationship with one another and how their rivalry is a bit more friendly to begin with, which he and Williams describe as “yearning”.
