BlizzCon 2026 has just begun, but it’s already been a big day for the Diablo franchise.

During the opening ceremony, Blizzard President Johanna Faries confirmed that an animated Diablo series is coming to Netflix.

Beyond that, there’s the news that Diablo IV and its two expansions are making their way to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15th.

That's not all, though. After all, it is the 30th anniversary of the franchise, and while we'll learn more about the new Amazon class coming to Diablo IV, we also got a sneak peek at the franchise's future: confirmation of Diablo V.

Here's what we know so far: it features a world where Diablo has conquered Sanctuary, and all those safe spaces we've come to lean on over the years are gone.

Diablo V will release in Spring 2029. When you think about it, it's not that long of a wait. Hey, it's out a year before the new StarCraft shooter! Plus, there's plenty of other ways to play Diablo in the meantime.

More as it develops.
