Star Trek has enjoyed a lot of really solid adaptations over the years, but it really does feel like Deep Space Nine has a really solid argument for being the very best of the bunch. The series brought immense ambition in storytelling to a franchise that was previously more than happy with separate episodic releases, while adding all sorts of depth to the existing lore.
Though it takes a little while to find its feet, you'll quickly find yourself invested in the individual journeys of the characters, in a show that feels a lot more real and lived-in than any other Star Trek project we have seen to date. Sadly, it finished its original broadcast run in 1999, with 176 episodes under its belt, but we haven't really had the opportunity to return much since.
Now, a new release finally returns it to the fore after all these years, and it's in a medium that you almost certainly wouldn't have expected.
