Final Fantasy 7 Director Reveals the Most Intimidating Remake in His Opinion

We’re reaching the final stretch before Final Fantasy VII Revelations, and Naoki Hamaguchi has been giving us plenty of insights during interviews.

Of course, with the last part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series getting wrapped up, Hamaguchi has been asked whether other games would get the same treatment.

We’ve already received confirmation that Final Fantasy IX won’t be getting the remake treatment and all ideas had been scrapped. Final Fantasy IX is loved by many, but still has its controversial sides that might be harder to scrub off, especially with antagonist Kuja. Those hoping to see all of Vivi’s glory will have to wait until Square Enix decides that it might be worth remaking it after all on another console generation.

Final Fantasy VIII was deemed too big by Hamaguchi to capture properly in a remake and sadly shot down as well. FF8 remains divisive in the FF community with its rapid pacing in the end and the fact that it was the follow-up to the famous Final Fantasy VII, which broke records and still is regarded as one of the best games ever created.
