State of Decay 2 launched back in 2018, and 38 updates later, players are overdue for a new adventure with State of Decay 3. Since the sequel was officially announced in 2020, it’s likely that fans weren’t expecting to still be waiting to face the new threat that engulfs the series’ largest map ever.
A State of Decay 3 Beta build is almost ready, enabling players to jump into the action for the first time since the roll out of the alpha version.
State of Decay 3 takes place years after the initial outbreak. You can claim multiple settlements to create a community network of survivors, craft and build homemade items, and reinforce your defenses to survive. The next entry in the franchise is expected to build upon its predecessor, as you write your own survival story, which can be played online with up to four friends.

In an announcement on Discord, Undead Labs says that the team is “putting the finishing touches on our Beta build. Expect to hear more from us over the next few days about exact timing.”
